If it is a high temperature grease, it is suitable for the ears of the pads where they touch the calipers.

Nothing should be applied to the guide pins, they should be assembled dry.

If it is designed to be an insulator, like the plastic compounds that set up, it can be applied to the backs of the pads, but you can get some reduction in brake pedal feel from that.

It works when it's on there. But it eventually washes away in time.

But if your concern is your wife squealing then I'd look at a duct tape rather than an automotive lubricant.

Meh, just file the edge of the brake pads to feather them a bit. Brake pads shouldn't squeal at all in the stock compound. The paste is a band aid job that doesn't last in my experience...

It is a high temp grease, and is suitable for use on the ears of the pads. I use this at the dealer, and honestly when I run out of it I just use anti-seize... And as always JCL is right, the guide pins should always be assembled clean and dry.

Try blue Permatex gasket maker. Works and lasts. You just have to make sure to let it 'set up' before reinstalling the pads.
