Noticed something about my Heated Seats

Temperature dipped to a balmy 39-40 this evening driving home from my in laws. I had my heated seat on. It got a lot hotter than it normally does. Of course, I rarely see temps under 55 degrees. Do the seats warm up more as the temperature drops ? I don't recall my E92 doing this . Or am imagining things ??

Weasel will become famous soon enough
On warmer days I noticed my seats warms up faster and feel warmer, which did throw me off for a minute before I figured out what it was... I was simply wearing less layers of clothes! Just think of the layer of insulation of an added under shirt or jacket etc.

Yes. But I always have it the same. Yesterday it was cold outside and I had to turn it off after 15 minutes. On normal days I can leave it on for a full trip. I have a bad hip so that's why I use it regularly.

Ok, after I read this thread I went out and looked.
I can't find anywhere in the idrive to make changes to the seat heaters on either my 3.0 X5 Msport or my X5M.

Nor can I find anything in the manual.

What am I missing? Both X's are 2010 BTW if that makes any difference.

Heated seat distribution should be in iDrive.
If '10s were the old version, push left and scroll the 2nd row options to get to it. In the new iDrive, select Menu, settings, and climate to get to it.

Nope nit there on either car.

I have heated front seats but not the cold weather package or heated rear seats. Maybe that's why it's not there.

Don't know but don't have it on either car.

These are the best seats of any vehicle I've had. I also have that seat massage button that makes it feel even better ( Forgot what that option is called ). I'm so happy everyday that I picked these seats over the other options.
