2012 X5d Not Arriving until Sept/Oct????

All,

I've been scowering all the BMW forums and keep seeing an alarming trend in posts. The gas engines will be 2012s in April but the diesel will not cutover to 2012 until Sept/Oct! Does anyone have any knowledge or have spoken to their dealer about the diesel and when it will switch over?

I have an embargo on speaking to my local dealers until I'm ready to negotiate at this point. Every conversation conveys interest which loses negotiation power IMO.

Any help, input would be fantastic.

Thanks!

Take a look at the PDF posted in the 2012 changes posted. The diesel 2012 changes are described. April production.

I know, I've read both may 15 times. They say price as of March 1, 2011. But nowhere does it say the diesel for 2012 is in production in April. Maybe I'm just missing it.

Perhaps they are in the process of certifying the 40d and/or 8-speed. Seems like BMW is creating 'events' every 6 months or so to keep interest in the vehicle.

Truth is, Sept/Oct is typical for the next model year. Introducing the 2012 35i so early, and so soon after the LCI, is the anomaly.

I thought the same thing too about the 40d. But they would have named the press release and order guides appropriately then for 2012 I would think.

I am going to be more than moderately annoyed if this turns out to be true. The way I've priced them, I can save $2,000 by going with the 2012 and I get the new headlights. But there is no way I want to wait until October.

Have the new headlights been officially confirmed?

I heard the same thing from a local dealer yesterday. No production of 2012 diesels until July and delivery in August. I'm going forward with my 2011, should be here by the end of March!
