2012 online ordering guide for 35i base and premium

Got these ordering guide from dealer today, there is quite surprised to see 35i base has many HIDDEN options listed as standard which are not noted in BMW product planning & strategy bulletin.

2012 vs 2011, the addtional standard equipments in 35i base with MSRP price:
Power tailgate: 500
Roof rails: 100
Lumbar support: 400
Park distance control: 750
BMW assist: 750
Hi-Fi sound system: 875 <= don't know what worth $875 than stereo though
iPod and USB adapter: 400

Total MSRP on those equipment: $3775, which does't even include LED rings

But in the planning & strategy bulletin, the equipment added in 2012 35i is only listed as $1350, and MSRP is increased by only $900, that's quite a difference.

Don't see why there is $7600 MSRP difference between 35i premium vs 35i base.

Interesting, they did add a fair bit of equip to the standard premium model (Roof Rails where standard last year though on the premium, only the base omits those and my 2011 was standard with ipod interface, they added that at some point in 2011 to the standard list and the upgrade is the smartphone option)

The premium includes a bunch of things the base doesn't have like privacy glass, panoramic sun roof, ability to have 3rd Row and rear seat climate controls, leather, roof rails, woodgrain trim. You also can't get keyless, backup camera etc on the base - guess that all adds up to the $7600 difference. I could live without the sunroof, but between the tinted glass, leather and inability to add options to the base.

I am also not sure you are comparing apples to apples as your pdf for the base is actually for a 35d not a 35i and the Diesel options totally different as there is only a base and then you can add anything you want, where the 35i is broken up and limited as to what you can do at each level (which is stupid in my book especially since they don't do it on the 50 or d)

Oops, attached wrong PDF file for 35i base; Now it's fixed.

By adding convenience package($2100), leather($1450), heated seat($500)in base, the 35i base is pretty much identical to 35i premium without
19" wheels:
power adj. steering column:
privacy glass:

But the price difference is $3550, No sure those three equipments worth that money.

Yeah, the another diffference between 35i base and 35i premium is that you have chance to exercise options like zcv, zcw, zps and ztp.

But it looks like BMW charged too much for that oppertunaity.
