rear heat

Don't have rear climate pkg... the heat is supposed to come on when the lever is in the red and the idrive climate also is set to show red (apparently, since that's what my advisor said). So now I go from having no hot air come through to having it come through but delayed from when I get it in the front, which in itself takes 10 minutes of driving. Does your rear heat come on as soon as it comes on in the front? It seems I need to wait another 3-5 minutes. I just want to make sure this is normal operation vs. having a defective/clogged duct which other threads have mentioned.

You can always get a Diesel...the heater starts almost right away, even if the engine is stone cold!!

I drove my dad's minivan and the heat comes on within 2-3 minutes of driving. You can feel it in the vents. Not so with the E70, even though I know the climate control is lacking... I just care if it's normal for it or not - so does it come on as heat right away for you now? Does the rear come on as heat immediately as well?

bumping this thread... need more opinions about whether yours has an additional delay in the rear. And the front for that matter.

No delay here in front or rear (no rear climate package, dual-zone front climate control) but my dad's is a diesel.
