Just as we have a rear seat entertainment system for the kids, the front one is for my wife.

It'll be done on Thursday and I'll post exactly what was done and what was involved re: parts, costs, etc.
As for buying a second dvd player, yes, obviously I can balance a portable dvd player on the dash board, but after spending 70k on a car - that's not really what I want to have to do. I like everything integrated and factory looking. The ability to load 6 movies and simply select DVD while we're on a long trip is well worth it. Not Thursday, but they're also adding two headrest monitors for the back which will be integrated into the system so I can control everything for the kids via the idrive. Again, I'll post all of the specs and info on Thursday night or Friday.

It sounds like a very cool mod!! But IMO unless you take a lot of long trips with your family, a DVD player is pointless. Then again it's always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
