Anyone try Weisslicht LED turn signal and halos upgrade? Just ordered...

Hey everyone, I have a 2008 X5 4.8i and I just ordered the Weisslicht LED PY24W xenon white color front turn signal bulbs and also the Weisslicht LED Halo/Angel Eye bulbs to match.

Tried searching but did not see many that have tried these on the forum...anyone?

I ordered from JLevi. The goal is to clean up the front of the car (headlights) for the "all xenon" white clean look. They are supposedly easy plug and play, and no error codes.

I currently have stock turn signals and the GP Thunder 7500 halo bulbs.

Thanks, and post pics if you have any.

I've been considering those LED Turn Signals as well.
However, I've not had a chance to check to see if the type they're selling will, in fact, have the correct fitment.

Last time I checked the owner's manual, the turn signals in my E70 have the PYS24W; NOT PY24W.

Not sure if it makes a difference.
Let us know how it works out.

The front turn signals, at least on my 2011 E70 are very unique, and only available at the BMW dealership. They actually sell, at the dealership, those silvery looking front turn bulbs that blink amber, even though they look silver. BUT...they want almost $50 for EACH bulb!

I went to many auto part stores, and NOT one store carried the special bulb design that my 35d needs for the front turn signal.

Please let us know how the Weißlicht bulbs work. Are they really just plug and play, no resistor or black tape, tinkering involved? Several bulbs that 100% promised no codes or error messages for our '10 M6...gave codes and error messages. They worked, but I cannot stand driving around with warnings on the instrument cluster and on the iDrive screen. Keep us posted. Thanks!

I just installed the WeissLicht LED Halo LED bulbs in my X today. Last week i installed the WeissLicht PY24w's.

Today is a very bright day but from what I can see the halo's look really great. I had the high watt GP Thunders in the halo's before these. I can say that these LED's are not as bright (not by much) during the day. Now, they do match the corner LED's now perfectly.

I got codes with those 85w high power Thunders every day but I lived with it. These new LED's throw no codes at all. Additionally, at night when my head lights were on the Thunders looked like OEM bulbs. I believe they would go half power or something when the headlights were on and looked quite bad. These new LED's maintain the same power output with the lights on or off, a definite bonus!

I'll post pics after it gets dark later.

Our Weisslicht LEDs for the Corona Rings arrived yesterday from Bimmian. We ordered a set for the "11 35d and our '10 M6. SAME bulbs, same part #...yet Bimmian charged $5 more for the M6!

BOTH in the 35d and the M6.....ERROR codes!! You think they are bright? We thought they looked dim, muted, too bluish and just really bad! Even if they had no Error codes, the GP Thunders are much brighter, crisper and look better...lights on or off.

OK, so I have decided to STOP trying to get a better Corona Ring. NOTHING is going to look the like factory LED rings the new 5 Series and 3 Coupe have. NOTHING. GP Thunders are the best compromise. They are just a direct bulb replacement, they are not yellow at all, they are very inexpensive...

So disappointed with Bimmian and these crappy LEDs. Funny, how you love them, and I hate them!! These just stink of cheap, Chinese Sh*t. Dressing them up with a German name and selling them in a cool, high quality box in the colours of the German National Flag...does not make a great product. Slimy and deceptive marketing at it's best!!!

And there you have it, in our latest "Point: Counter Point" -- I still love the skit from Saturday Night Live with "Jane, you ignorant slut..." But beauty truely is in the eye of the beholder. Now if both of you could post pics, we could see for our selves!

Could it be that these are different batches and there's some inconsistancy between one set and another?

I got my PY24W LED from Bimmian as well, when they are $129 a pair! 2 weeks later they drop price to $99 WTF! Anyway I have the PY24W LED installed and use it every day about 4 weeks now. so far so good. however, I got code on oneside once a while, not too often, maybe 4x total. most of the time it happen when the car started, than the code is gone after few sec.

Try to call and email Bimmian few time to replace the bad bulb, they told me to ship back the bad bulb with my own cost than they will have the replacement ship out. I ask them why I have to paid to ship the bad bulb back. Of cause, they never reply and return phone calls.

Bimmian services is very bad, Buying from them is easy, but services support is su@k if you needed!
Will never buy from them again!

As of the LED Corona Ring. I have the umnitza’s one. They are damn bright at night, but not too well at bright daytime. They are $80 pair. No code and no problem. There is a LUX H8 Ver 3 are coming soon, they claim they are as bright as the OEM. But damn expensive $279 pair. Love to see it!
