Took X5 in 4 service and they found Trans sealing sleeve

leaking. Is this bad news down the road for the trans even though they fixed it. Anyone else have this issue? I also told them that engine rpm's were to high when a/c or heater was on .. was about 950rpm.. they told me there was a bulletin on this issue. anyone here with same issue?

How many miles are on the transmission and how much fluid was lost through the sleeve. The more fluid you lost and the more miles which were done at the lower fluid levels will determine the damage which could possibly have happened.

You are going to ask the BMW rep "how bad was my leak?"

So here is what would concern me:

1. he doesn't know, and says "eh, no so much, but we wanted to be safe so we changed it"
2. He doesn't know, but says "It was pretty bad" just to make you feel like they are studs at this whole thing.
3. He doesn't know, and says so.

or

4. He does actually know, tells you how much, but you'll never know if it was 1 or 2 above.

Pick one.

Sadly the only response you can rely upon is #3.

There's a similar issues with the 3er equipped with the ZF transmission. I took my mother's 325i (which has the ZF) in under CPO because I found out about the SIB and because I saw a drop of ATF on the garage floor one day. No idea if it covers the X5 though.
