Click/Tick noise...driver footwell/door/under steering wheel

I hate rattles more than anything!! I have had 4 months of rattle free driving enjoyment...and BAM, one hits my beloved 35d!

When I am going thru twists and turns, or over pavement that makes the suspension do an "up and down"...there is a very prominent click/tick noise. It really sounds to be coming from somewhere underneath the steering column/OBD plug, lights, vent area. I guess it could also be the front driver door, but does not sound like that.

The worst is when I am driving in our canyon (I live at the top), so there are a lot of 25-35 mph lefts and rights. Click/tick when going left. Quiet when staight. Click/tick when going right and then back & forth.

Driving me nuts. Anyone else? Advice, Ideas? My most dreaded fear is taking the car in for rattles and squeaks. I have had very, very limited success with this, and many times the idiots at the dealership make it worse.

I was so happy I had no interior noises. My '07 and '08 E70 were pretty bad. I thought I escaped the curse!!! ;(

Thanks!

-Adam

Cant answer your question, but you should try isolating the noise when your deaf out of 1 ear....my truck has a noise on startup and i havent a clue as to where it's comming from (cant triangulate sounds)....very frusterating....good luck, hope you get it resolved.

Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you see it)...the clicking/ticking/creak noise is my Driver front seat. If I really re-arrange the seat (up, down, back, front, etc, etc)..the noise goes away for a while.

I am honestly totally relieved it is not a dash or door or A or B pillar rattle!!!

have you tried using felt tape? I hate rattles too, I feel like putting felt tape between every plastic part in the trunk and doors.
