Depends on what you dealer is willing to do. Personally, I prefer 19 to 20 for the reason you stated; however, many people prefer appearance over functionality and like the 20's over the 19's.

They probably will not change it for you once it arrives- they do not have wheels sitting around, and would want to be paid for the $5000 it will cost. I idly wonder if someone here would trade...although I thought the 20s were a $$ option with some package
I find it hard to beleive in 6 days the car is in production...are you sure the dealer is just not being lazy? Call the BMW order line and see what the status is for your production number. Escalate to the manager if your CA is slow dancing you. |

My advice, keep the 214s as it completes the aggressive look. You'll just need to purchase a winter set-up. My 214s are going back on next week

Initially for me it was appearance>function but thinking in the long run I'd rather have 19's. My sa said that he had one more slot in so i'd get it early when i ordered last sunday so i don't think he was lying about that. I was just going to try to ask if they could swap it out once the car arrives because the people at the dealership seemed nice/helpful.

As others said above, if they have to order wheels it will cost (unless they have a buyer waiting for the 20" wheels and tires). What I would ask the dealer to do is check if they have a stock vehicle with the 19" that they would be prepared to swap the wheels for you. They wouldn't necessarily give you the original value of them, or any $, but they could likely swap them and just include them in another stock vehicle as a selling feature for someone that does want them. That is the type of thing my dealer would do, based on past experience.

Like I said, with your production number you can determine if production has already started.

Keep the 20". Extended wheel arches with 19" looks like you are crippled.

where in NY are you? I have 20s year-round downstate. The size and width are FINE as long as you swap out the summer rubber on them (permanently I suppose) and at least use all-seasons. 3 winters and counting...
19s looked like crap on such a stylish vehicle - I couldn't stand it every time I looked out at them in the weeks following delivery - so I jumped up myself.
