Thank you! Just to clarify, you can still leave the OEM subwoofers hooked up when using the line converter right?

Yea u can still leave it hook up. The way I did it was set up my amp to the max for the bass but I have a bass control knob for my amp so I can adjust it to the level I want while driving n have my tweeters set up at a high good level

Awesome. Good to know. The OEM subs plus the ported enclosure I'm building will be a good balance of mid-bass and lows.

Following up on this, I asked Technic PnP about this and they said that the signal is a proprietary digital signal that comes from the head-unit, not a traditional analog. It's possible to grab this signal and convert it to a traditional analog signal via a mObridge MOST converter. This, however, does not allow use of the factory amp.

Also, just and FYI, according to Technic PnP, the factory amp starts dropping off around 30hz.

This thread was a great read but would be great if any of the links worked after all these years. Can anyone provide updated links to photos and wiring diagrams? Was there any reason not to use the high level auto on feature on the amp? Thanks.

Also to those who have added a sub, is it a worthwhile upgrade for the Top Hi-Fi system, or would I be better off putting it into my old VW or Toyota with "premium" sound? I also have a JL 500/1 V2 amp to install, but with a 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect VQ.

The links provided above show the wires to tap very clearly. I used those diagrams for my hi to low converter and it worked out great.

You’re right. They are dead. Let me see if I can snap a picture of mine and upload it.
