E70 Sub/Amp Install DIY (sort of)

Ok here’s some pictures.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Of note my wife’s x5 has the logic 7 system.

This just shows how I routed the wires to the Loc.



His shows the loc.



This shows what wire to tap on the passenger side rear cubby to turn on the amp. Switched power



This shows which wires to tap for the sub.

Hi, Very Nicely done !!

I want to upgrade my system.
I'm pretty sure I have the top offered system, but how do I know "exactly" what I have ??

Go here and put in your vin. It will tell you what you what option you have.

Do you have a center chanel in the dash? Tweeters everywhere including the rear area? Full graphic equalizer thru idrive? If you said yes to all these then you have the Top Hi-Fi system, or aka logic 7.

You can always upgrade the speakers but you’re limited by the power output of the logic 7 amp.

To add a sub you have to do what I did in the pictures. That’s what I though this thread was all about. You can always upgrade to a better sub. The stock
Subs are better at mid bass than sub bass.

If u wanted to upgrade all the speakers without changing the amp, audiofrog speakers are pretty sensitive and would probably do ok with the stock amp. Bavsound makes upgrade kits tailored to the stock amp as well.

This is what you’d be up against to just replace the speakers if u don’t go the bavsound route.
