I have a 06/07 build and just added series. itis not like the e53 where it is just plug and play.
I bought the receiver for 200 on eBay. You then need someone (dealer) to code the car and configure the fiber mostbus ring. I plugged up the receiver but the ring still needed to bee lit. Total cost for receiver was 200, and dealer coding/ring enabling was 325. 525 all on, works great now...

I just bought a CPO '07. It did not have ipod from the factory, so I asked if then could put it in. They did, but had to take out the CD changer from the dash, which they did not tell me. Also the AUX functionality is grayed out and cannot be accessed anymore either. To top it off, there is no way to shuffle the tracks. So you hear all songs in alphabetical order. I can skip to next and previous track, playlists are accessible, and I can scroll with i-drive wheel (but it's impractical to scroll through list of thousands of songs to get to the one you want). Is there anyway to salvage this? The my i-drive menus do not look the same as the ones in the ipod interface manual that came with the kit. Could this be solved by a software update?

My 2007 does not have Ipod integration kit and at some point I wanted to install it. Called to my SA in NJ. She quoted me $745 installed. I think it's too much for just a pleasure to connect IPOD instead of just burn CD's and put'em in CD changer. The car has total 6 CD's. It's about 600 songs in MP3 format. I think it's enough for me.
Satelite - I have it but rarely listen to it. Last edited by aeggroup; 02-08-2011 at 11:19 PM. |

My 07 came with Ipod connection. I had Sirius only in my E60, but I'm much happier with both the ability to play MP3 disks and have the Ipod running. Rarely listened to my Sirius anyway.

I'm in a similar boat to the folks above. I have an 07 X which does NOT have the multdisk player but has Sat (though I'm not subscribed)
Would I just need to get the Ipod Interface kit, install, and have dealer program? Thanks much. |

You can also have a third party code the car for you. It does not have to be the dealer. Patrys or Aleks can do this for probably around half the cost from the dealer with respect to coding.
