iDrive

Hi
Have had our new 30d LCI since Sept 10, love it. 8sp gearbox much improved.
One niggle I do have is the iDrive does not always come back up on the function it was last on and goes back to the main menu, last 07 E70 always returned to last menu. I tend to always keep the nav map up but find it v frustrating to have to continually put it back to the map. BMW Aust say it is normal. Anyone else suffer from this?

Regards

David

If i have the Nav up on the Main screen and the entertainment on the split screen. I have noticed that i lose the main map and will have the main menu. I have not noticed this behavior if I have Entertainment in the main screen.

Well, I'm not one to disagree but my 2011 is very consistent in that regard, with ONE exception..

If I start the car back up, I will get the same displays / menus / etc. EXCEPT..
SOMETIMES - it seems random - for Current Playback, I will get the same song, but only the "Show Artist" view. Not the list it had when I shutdown. Really rather annoying.

But it pretty much always goes back to whatever displays / menus I was in prior.
Can't say much about other keys - my buddy has a key but rarely drives it.
(usually only does so when they pour me into the passenger seat)

Has not complained about settings, though, and my experience is fairly consistent.

Does it do this to you every time or just sometimes?

Very Intermittent, sometimes it behaves sometimes back to menu.
