My X5 won't start, WTF?

So my new-to-me CPO X5 4.8i arrived a couple of days ago. It seems the five days on the auto transport truck wasn’t good for the battery, and the truck wouldn’t start. There were no battery problems before I bought the truck last week (as confirmed by two PPIs at two independent BMW repair shops in the Los Angeles area). The transport driver gave her a quick jump start, and I was on my way.

I parked the truck over night, went to start her up on Saturday morning and the truck wouldn’t start.

I let it sit for another day, and tried to jump start it using a Schumacher battery charger. Again, the truck didn’t start. In fact, after I tried to start it, everything went blank. After I disconnected the charger, the electronics were on the fritz and then the power went out completely.
Then I happened the press the hazard lights button and that was on the fritz too.

I don’t know if I killed my battery, blew a fuse, or both. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the truck?

One other thing, I am 90% sure that I did not switch the positive and negative terminals when jumping. It's the 10% that worries me.

I would say replace the battery and you should be good to go. I had a similar problem when I bought my 05 cpo 4.4

If that is not a problem, then get it back to the dealership since you have cpo warranty.

When you do replace the battery, your tranny and a couple other warning lights will be on the dash, I cant remember exactly but there is a reset procedure to clear those. I think you turn the wheel to the left all the way or something like that.

Change the battery first, and check all your fuses, they are located in the glove box if the battery doesnt work.

Have a dealer address it. (Personally I would replace the battery myself, and it that didn't fix it, then have it towed in.)

DO NOT TELL THEM YOU'VE BEEN JUMPING IT, ETC.

Last thing you want is the dealer to decide these things (blown up computers perhaps?) are your fault.

I wouldn't even tell them the truck driver jumped it. They'll blame him and you can be SOL.

"car won't start, figured it was the battery, replaced it, still wont start, figured you guys should look at it".

Am I being paranoid? maybe. As they say, better paranoid than sorry.

Issue resolved. I took the car to the dealer after receiving jump. Needed a new battery.
