Window Tinting: Cost & Tint Levels..

What do you guys pay for window tint?

I'm being quoted $220 for all but the windshield....

Am thinking 50% front and 35% rear..

Gotta stay legal!

Huper Optik ceramic is around $400 or more... was quoted $550 from a reputable guy around NYC.

I went with a carbon which was $220 for all but the windshield as well. 35% all around.

50% may not do much - may as well not bother. When you say front I assume you mean the front sides. 35% is dark enough to look good (with the white) but light enough that cops can still see you on a bright day. My front sides are "illegal" too but haven't had any trouble.

Whilst on the subject of tinting, can anyone report on potential interference from the rear window being tinting of the radio reception?

I am about to tint, but I just want to make sure I don't ruin my radio reception.

You wont ruin anything; I got 20% in the back windows over the factory tinted windows and 10% on the front ceramic; no issues.

I had all windows tinted except the front windshield..but now that it is getting hot (we had 3 days this week with 95-100F), I think I must have the front windscreen tinted! It is unbearable!

I did the front windows at 35%, all other windows with 20%. Even though I have the privacy glass option, I still tinted all the windows, since the dark BMW glass does not offer any real heat prevention.

I had 3M Ceramic film installed. Paid $220, 5 months ago. NO radio problems. Looks and performs great. I would not own a car without tinted windows, especially where I live.
