Wiring Harness Installation Instructions?

Why cannot find the installation instructions for the wiring harness on the OEM E70 X5 tow hitch (2010 x5 35d)?

Instructions are usually packaged with the tow hitch in my experience (I purchased and installed two hitches, but not for an E70)

You can also ask your dealer to print out the instructions when you buy the hitch.

Your vehicle may require recoding at the dealer, though, so instructions may not help.

OK, they weren't in the box for some reasons. I'll go back to the dealer for the info.

Thanks.

Hitch Installation Instructions

I have the trailer hitch instructions that contain the wiring installation. They are for 2010 X5 but should be the same except the bumper cut out.

The file is too large to attach here so PM me your e-mail address and I can send them to you. I also have the Instructions for installing the brake controller if you want that also.

Chuck

I've installed mine but the PDC has gone off & there's no brake lights or reverse lights on the trailer. Will coding fix it? I'm in Cyprus & the dealer is useless.

Thanks

If it is installed correctly, then coding would be the next step to try and resolve those issues.

Does the dealer have to do the recoding or can an shop that specializes in BMW repairs do that same flash?

Given that there have been several updates related to trailer wiring, which only the dealer would have access to, I would use the dealer.
