Creaky/Clicking Driver seat...fix on the horizon??

I called and emailed my SA this morning, and forwarded all the posts on our Board about many people having problems with noisy E70 Driver seats.

He called me tonight at 7pm, and said that even though the shop foreman said he knew of no problems (yeah, right!!), he called BMWNA...and there are SEVERAL TSB alerts regarding the E70 Driver's Seat.

They even have an actual "E70 Driver's Seat repair kit". I consists of new seat rivets and some kind of felt and foam insulation that goes inside and around the seat frame and moulding.

My SA ordered the kit, and when it comes in I can make an appt. for my 35d. Fingers crossed my E70 can once again be perfect and bank vault quiet and rattle/noise free!!

Thanks again everyone for all the posts!

My appt. is Thursday @ 10:15am. When I get my car back, I will post exactly what was done, and if there's a part number, I will provide that too!

Cheers!

Deutch, when did the creaks first present themselves? I think we both received our X5d about the same time (Thanksgiving for me), and we've got about 4k in miles...no squeeks...yet.

Do you have the Multi Contour seats ? It seems those are the ones with the issues.

I bought my car 07 Dec 2010. Creak began around 3000 miles. I now have 4100 miles. At first I thought I had a rattle in the dash. Was very relieved to pinpoint it to the driver's seat & not have a dash issue. In the beginning I could make the creaking/clicking go away if I just adjusted the seat height, forward, backward.... Then that stopped helping. Now it just creaks and clicks with almost every turn, change in road height, and at random brakes, stops and gos. SO annoying!

Yes, I have the multi contour seats.

I do LOVE them though, most supportive and comfortable seats I have ever had!
