What year E70 is best for 02 X5 4.4sport?

Been awhile since I've perused the forum. My 2002 4.4i sport with OEM EuroTech bodykit and OEM 19"s Titanium/Black and 250,000Km has finally and most unfortunatily began to cost us way more then its worth. I'm now looking for an 07-09 to replace it.

Is the diesel worth it? Has the 3.0 enough driveable power to keep me happy? And again which years prove more reliable?

I will truelly miss my 02 with EuroTech kit aside from the mechanics its in beautiful condition and still turns heads.

I would pass on the '07 as it was the first year. There are many that are just fine, with few problems, and you may find a nice clean one; then you would have to decide. But if I was staring to search, I would look for an '08 or '09.

The 3.0 was adequate in the heavier E70. I liked the 3.0 in the E53, but would want to make sure it had sufficient power for me if I was looking at an E70.

3.0 twin turbo (35i) in later years is the best combination IMO. You are looking at more money then.

Diesel is something you either like or not. It is a different driving experience. Not so many revs, not the same engine sound, but lots of torque. Recommend you drive one and decide if you like it.

I picked up my E70 07's recently and besides a few superficial stuff, it's been a dream. I was looking for an 08 but was luckily to find this one in such great condition with a CPO.
Here are photos for reference if needed. Good luck!
