What iPod will work with my '07?

I've been trying every iPod and iPhone in the house, fer the love of god, nothing works.

I don't seem to have a device which is compatible with this 4.8i and I'd sure like to see what that USB connection does, and what shows up on the NAV screen.

It will charge USB devices, but that's it.

Any ideas?

Sorry to hijack here...but figured if someone searches later on, this might be useful.

I do not have a USB port on my 07 4.8i but have considered retrofitting or getting an adapter. With the 07 (old iDrive) software, is it really worth the trouble and cost? Am I better off just using my AUX in and using my iPod to control the tunes? In other words, is the "old iDrive" software good at displaying and navigating tuneage on the display?

On my '08 535i, with the 6FL option, which likely has the same software as the E70, the interface worked well. It was much better than using the iPod handheld (which is illegal here anyway). Steering wheel controls for navigating the menus, and iDrive display of the song details.

Fine proof that dealer supplied parts are money-out-the-bank.
