Few more weeks with the "bachelor" E53

Family and change in commuting requirements are dictating a slightly larger, greener, less stiff, and more "practical" ride - space for stroller, wife's constant over packing vs. sub box + amp racks.

In a few weeks, we'll be transitioning from the 01 4.4 with Hartge package, 22" wheels and custom audio, to a new 35d.

Alpine White
Nevada Cinnamon Brown leather
Premium Package
Premium Sound
Rear Climate Package
Technology Package
Roof Rails
Multi-Contour seats
Heated Front seats
Dark Bamboo wood trim
3rd row seat
Side-view Cam (really for the wife in tight garage packing situations)

Opted to not get Sport Package or Adaptive drive. I thought it was fine on the test drive, but not sure if i'll regret it in the long term. We live in pothole ridden NYC, and my commute is mix city + highway without much twisties in between. We shall see. Leasing for 3 years anyway and time flies. Already see the 4.0d + 8spd tranny in the future.

I'll miss the 4.4. It's a rocket ship (to me), and it handles amazing. The v8 grunt with the Hartge exhaust is intoxicating.

Ordered on Sat, and my SA said I may even get the car as soon as 3-4 weeks.

Patiently tracking my Prod No. every...few mins

At least it's a lease...

You'll regret not getting the sport package. I live in White Plains and frequently drive to/through the city and love the sport package on the FDR.

Maybe I'll see ya around. Congrats on the new ride.
