Anyone moved from a M car to a X5?

I am in the process of making a move to X!

I currently have a 2006 M6 coupe. Love the car but i need a SUV. My girlfriend has a 09 C4S PDK so our sports car situation is fine. Has anyone here made the move from M to X? Any regrets?

I am looking at 08-09 4.8 trucks. I want to find space grey or black with all the toys...

looking for any input!

I had an Interlagos Blue M3 with Competition package a few years back, and I went to an X5 3.0si. I felt lost. But with my 4.8i and 35d E70...I do not miss (usually) the M3.

With the Porsche and and E70..you'll be great. 2010 and 2011 models have better iDrive, and with a pre-owned 2011 you'll get the great new tailllamps and bumpers.

I added the 2012 X5 to the stable with the M sport package and kept the '06 M3 ZCP. Can't compare the ride though since the M has GC suspension. Power and handling still goes to the M especially on the windy roads

My car-before-last was an E46 M3. It was fun, but I think overall I enjoy my X5 more. It certainly wins out on long trips. Any BMW is going to drive and handle well. Some days I regret not getting the 50i, but the 35i still accelerates better than any other SUV I've driven.

I want to keep it in M fashion. Aero package and a nice set of Hartge wheels. Going to stay with the 4.8 for price and i dig the look of the black fenders surrounded by painted trim like my old 4.6. I was really impressed with the power and i wont miss the 10MPG i get in the M6.

I have an M3, M5 and X5. Ordered a new X5 to replace the existing. While I love driving the X5 it does not replace the feedback and fun of driving an M car. With that said you have a similar situation to me in that you have a sports car in the family. My wife and I rotate the X5/M5 (I work in development and need it for job site visits a few times a week) and it keeps it fresh for me. The X5 has a great balance of sporty feeling and comfort while being practical. I think you'll be fine.

I need a ride for the golf course and to haul the boards to the snow. Our C4S is much more fun to drive than my M6 and im just so tired of the gas. I know the X5 is no prius but it will feel like it compared to the 6.

Hartge Wheels and a drop and ill be waxing her just like my M.

The gas does get old. But to me that V10 is so worth it. I average 15mpg though. You must drive your car like you stole it.

Quite a few members here who came from E60 M5, M6 etc.
If pricing is not an issue you should go for 35i with N55 engine and its faster than 4.8i (per BMW LCI press release)
