X5 in Yosemite

Anyone taken their X5 to yosemite? Going to be my first trip, not sure whether to be concerned about unpaved roads. Should I clear-bra it before the trip?

I wouldn't risk it. Take a rental.

ShantF1 is an unknown quantity at this point
What??.... No way take it and enjoy it. Curvy roads or unpaved..... I'll do what ever you want it. If your going to do serious off roading then take a rental.... But if it's just gravel... Take it easy and it should be fine. My 2009 48i went from ocean water, dunes Laguna Seca, snow. It did well. But anyway it's your choice. Have fun..

I would take it. Take some nice pics while you're there. Yosemite is a nice backdrop for the X5.

Most definitely! Hope the weather will be good for some shots.

It'll be good chance to pull back to the sun-roof and push her around the bends.

Why buy a AWD SUV and have concerns about where you drive it? (Within reason)

OP- A clear bra is a great idea irrespective of the gravel roads....but do it ASAP, before you have paint damage ...

Depends when you go...we motored by there less than a week ago, and only the upper route 89/4 in, way up near Topaz Lake, from the east, was open...the other two lower east entrances were closed due to record snows hanging on. And, that upper east entrance had 2+ hour back-ups. Maybe better for you coming in from 'the west', or if you go after the snow melts on the other roads in? Dunno...
Yes, I would take it.

Yosemite National Park has plenty of paved road unless entering camping ground. I'm thinking about going to Yosemite or Sequoia park in July. Have fun and enjoy your car
