Has anyone tried 336 replica wheels?

I know that a lot of people have used 300M reps with good results, but has anyone tried the 336 rep wheels yet?

If so, how do they look/perform?

Thanks!

For the life of me, I will never understand how people place their family's safety on 4 wheels that cost $800 shipped.

Tos say the term "replica" is misleading is an understatement... "cheap, unknown 3rd world copy" is more accurate.

Could you please elaborate on this. How are these wheels unsafe? Do they cause accidents or what?

I hit a pot whole in my 545 with OEM 18" at 40mph and it split the rim in half (all the way around the rim). The only thing holding the two pieces was the tire. The tire shop guy said if this was a REP, he would have bet money that the face of the rim would have busted apart also and my brake would have been the ground.

Seriously? Some vendor who, I assume, sells OEM wheels, bashes replicas. There're objective criterias such as weight, side and diagonal impact tests, etc. - unless the author conducted such tests, or had access to test results, it's nothing more than just his personal opinion.

As for the 'fraction of the cost', well, BMW charges what people are ready to pay, and evidently there are such people.

Wait, so you are saying- because the author of this ebay hit job has no 'objective criteria' and no 'data', they you will continue to believe that any "OEM" wheel must therefore be safe!??!?! You reject this piece for lack of data, but blindly trust this 3rd world crap?

These cheap copies are made to unknown or no standards. Find me ONE "Replica" that tells you who made the wheel and what Notified Body has certified the wheel/manufacturing facility. None. Nada.

So if you want to cling to a 'belief' that BMW simply overcharges and the real cost of these wheels is $100 to mfg, and that these "OEM vendors" are really the same vendors and same products that BMW sells, fine... but you are kidding yourself without any shred of evidence.

IMO
