Any way to avoid plastic seat backings?

Is there any X5 seat where you can avoid the ugly plastic on the seat backings, like this photo:

I ordered the multi-contour seats and my wife said.. yuck. Is Nappa leather all leather?

thanks..

You really dont want leather on the lower parts of the seatbacks - they would get filthy and the leather would look terrible from back seat passengers.

Interesting that its OK in a 5 series but not OK in a X5.

Is it? Look at the photo here - it looks like the same plastic - just the same color as the leather. Are you looking for leather all the way down the seatback or similarly colored plastic?

I guess you are right. I haven't owned my 540 e39 in five years and with the sand seats the backs must have just been sand plastic. So the problem really is.. if you choose a color other than black or sand you are going to have a multi color seat.

*Looks like Tobacco also has matching seat backs. I figured out the website actually shows you a small piece of the seat backs and shows what color its going to be. Man the x5M has some nice color options for the interior.

I have the beige nappa. I believe the seat backs are plastic but it is a soft high quality plastic.

I recall my '99 540i was a hard plastic, my '02 M5 with full leather was leather, and my '08 550i was back to a hard plastic.

Wonder if the Nappa leather seats are leather all the way around?

I think the light color in the pic above looks really nice, but I'd be concerned with keeping that seatback clean. I have Saddle Brown in a Black X5, and I really like the Black plastic seatback.

I am sure you could get them wrapped in leather by a shop.
