I do not have comfort access, but the regular remote has the option of all doors or just the drivers door in the first press. I would assume the comfort access also has this option, and it is probably in the Vehicle Settings section of the i-drive.

The default is set to open the driver's door only for safety reasons. Too many people get into carjacking/kidnapping situations when some dirtbag opens the passenger door and demands to be taken to another location.
Of course, you can work through the menu and set the car to unlock all doors.

I would honestly read the manual. You may find many things out about your X that you don't know. Even though you would think these Idrives are the same there are many differences. My 545 was different than my 550 and 07 X5(same idrive) which was different than my 11 X5 and surprisingly my 12 X5 was a bit different than the 11.

I believe there is an option to change it.
But I just grab the rear door handle when I have passengers. I do not want other doors unlocking all the time since I travel alone most of the time.
