Towing race car with M3...

I have indeed looked at the other threads about this but wanted some more input. I had my E46 M3 up forsale but I don't think I can follow through with it!!! So I am thinking about keeping it as a weekend track car. We have a '11 X5 diesel on order I would tow it with.

Does anyone on here tow an enclosed trailer with their X5? How does it fare? Here in SoCal we have a couple pretty steep inclines we need to make to get to most race tracks up north. I prefer an enclosed as it is better for at the track but I don't want to go down that path if the trailer will just be too much for the X5. Thanks for your input!
