3.5i oil change
I came across diy for 3.0 but would like to know if anything is different or something more model specific. I haven't seen much technical discussions on the new motor, part numbers for filters, torque specs etc. I think this would be a good reference for other new owners of this motor. -Tony |

if i'm correct, drain nut is 17mm across the board. torque spec for both drain nut and oil filter is 25.5NM. not sure if 35i and 30i share the same oil filter tool. oil filter kit can be bought at the dealer.

I did it over the weekend. I have X5 35i Prem and the trap doors is different from the 30 tut that's on here.

Trap door is a plastic lid opening to the drain bolt.
Some vehicles are missing them though. |
