iPhone 4 media snap in adapter not working?

Hey guys I have a media adapter (part# 84 21 2 218 390) for my iPhone 4 which is not working properly.

When I snap in my phone all I get is the charging beep and my antenna signal strength goes up a few bars.

I have the 6nr feature and BMW apps, so it should work. Everything works fine when connecting wih USB. I get album art, iPod, pandora, and the apps. All I really wanted was the plugin feature.

Any ideas?

So your X5 was built after September, 2010? I read that there is a 2nd version of this adapter, which is still not widely available. I've been told by my dealer here in Germany that it won't be available until mid July or early August.

I believe you have a pre-LCI model... if so you have the wrong part number

84212218390 is for E70N aka LCI

The iPhone 4 adapter for non-LCI is 84212199389. Should be around $130 at the dealer?
