More headroom would be nice

So my gripe is I don't have enough head room, it is completely my parents fault as I'm 6'9". Has anyone been able to achieve more headroom out of the stock seats? Only think I can think of is to undo the seats an pull some foam out of the bottom of the seat but that I would guess would make the seat leather look terrible. I've lowered the seat all the way with the power controls.

I have about an inch of headroom my concern is in a heavy front end impact there is a chance I could hit my head on the liner or in the chance of a roll over I know my head will be into the roof. Has anyone had or heard of people with this issue? I may be the only freak with this issue!

This is one of the few cars that I had legroom, hip and shoulder room and didn't need an elevator to get into, my previous BMW I had no headroom issues, then again it was and e46 convertible., Just a pain in the *** to get in and out of.

I'm 6'5, and one of the main reasons I bought the X5 was because of the leg and shoulder room. When I'm running out to starbucks in the morning before a shower, my hair can be scraping against the liner, so I couldn't see 6'9 without sticking your head out the sunroof .

Just from test driving and comparing though, the MB GL450 has more headroom than the X5. I know that doesn't really help you, but just passing the tidbit along.

You couldn't pay me to drive a MB....My neighbor has the ML350 about 1/2 the time. The other half he's in a loaner vehicle from the dealership. Was like that on his last one too but he swears by MB

The only other viable options I found were the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, neither one was even remotely interesting to me. They did have more headroom though as you could get them without the moon-roof.

5'11"...don't even get me started Probably can dunk better than I could to!

I'm 6'4", and I like my seatback fairly upright. I was just OK for headroom in the E53, but when I sat in an E70 I found it had less headroom than the E53, due to the larger sunroof. Perhaps different seats in the E70 have different headroom restrictions, but I didn't have sufficient headroom in the last one I sat in. My solution is typically to order vehicles without sunroofs; our special order E46 without a sunroof had great headroom. The 535 was OK even with the sunroof. The Z4 was marginal. The X3 is good, even with the panoramic sunroof.

I'm 6' 10" and am fine with headroom in the E70. The trick is lowering the seat all the way. It lowers and goes back at the same time.

I have recently been driving some newer cars and the new Durango of all things has very good headroom with certain seats. The VW Tiguan also has excellent headroom.

I'm 6' 6" and would have to agree with bigx5er...that's absolutely the trick! When the seat is lowered all the way, I have ample headroom.
