Good thing I have an appointment to take the X5 into the shop
I have the trim peeling off the steering wheel and a gap between my rear bumper at the body. That was the original appointment. Now, add to it that the tailgate closes and re-opens immediately. Front piece of plastic looking material sticks in the closed position on the latch, so when it tries to close, it can't catch since it's already in the closed position. That should be a quick fix. Then today, one of the front PDC sensors (third to the right from driver side) is acting up. It keeps showing that something is there and keeps the car in that loud beep until I hit the 12 MPH to where it turns off. Looks like a faulty sensor. Now to a question: My appointment is for Monday the 15th. That was when they had the next loaner available. I have to go out of town from the 16th to the 19th. If they take longer than a day to fix it, are dealers usually flexible with you holding on to the loaner until you can get back? Any mileage limits on loaners? etc. |

Mine has always been flexible. They've let me hold onto the loaner as long as it takes them to fix it. Past that, they may charge you. But go ahead and let them know your circumstances. Any my normal mileage limit is 100 miles/day.

PDC sensors are an easy fix. They usually stock them. I even had a time where something was loose or the sensor had dirt close to it.
