Bought my wife a new car and i inherited her sapphire black 2009 X5 3.0...

i ordered wheel arch trim, black 214s and Vredesteins and have blacked out all the chrome.

i'll post a pic of my simple little ride when all the dust settles. im pretty excited about it actually. Had a terrible experience with a 2010 Caddy CTSV and am glad to be back behind the wheel of a BMW after a year in what has to be the biggest POS since the Pacer.

Only other mod I want to do is something to the stereo. Its the base system and sounds like crap. Maybe BSW?

Congrats on "inheriting" the wifey's car.

i'm surprised, you didnt like the CTS-V? Its quite an amazing machine. what happened to be the downfalls in your opinion?

man, the list is long. short of it:

clutch began shuddering 2 weeks after i got it. replaced under warranty, started shuddering again after 100 miles.

recaros rocked in their mounts under accel/decel

roof leaked, popped, creaked, rattled

front wheels clicked

supercharger isolator rattled and sounded like a bunch of marbles were jammed into the engine

rear diff leaked

suspension squeaked like a 73 ford ranger

car spent 3 of the first 7 months in the shop... during the time it was in the shop, the dealer dented a door and chipped the paint to the metal, the dash, console and 1 of the recaros was cut. the headliner was broken during reinstall, most every interior panel was gauged or scratched in some manner... list is LOOONG. by far the worst experience ive ever had with a car and i had an N54 with the bad HPFP!

the car would absolutely SCREAM though... so it had that going for it... which was nice.
