I am under the impression that Adaptive Drive includes electonically controlled shocks/swaybars that change characteristics based on conditions. It is not the same as the "226 Sport Suspension" included as part of M Sport Package on xDrive35i Sport Activity. I understand that 226 Sport Suspension consist of traditional stiffer springs/shocks package and maybe bigger anti roll bars that are static. Is it possible to spec a US X5d with the same stiffer shocks/springs that come on xDrive35d Sport Activity w/ M Sport Package?

BMW did away with the sport suspension except on M Sport models. If you want a sportier suspension you have to buy adaptive drive for $3500.....ouch.

Get the M sportpaket and the 19" all-season wheels, or pony up for the Adaptive Drive.

AD is a different beast. You'd like to think BMW NA could just ship you one as if you were anywhere else in the world... (ie with the sport) Sigh |

M Sport Package is only available on xDrive35i Sport Activity; not available on diesels. So the consensus is that you can't change what suspension Sport Activity Package comes with in the US.
