What 22's?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and pick my 2011 Xdrive40d on Friday - can't wait! (pictures to follow later this week!)

I'm not impressed with the stock Msport 19's and want to change up for 22's - any suggestions?

The car is black...

I'm leaning towards Vorsteiner V105's but I'm still open to suggestions - does anyone have a pic of these on a black X5?

thanks

Personally I don't like any non-OEM wheels on cars so I can't recommend any 22"ers. I think the 20" 214s look best or maybe the 20" 336s for a slightly newer look. There are always the 21" 215s in black or ferric grey.

I can see where you're coming from - I do really like the 336's but think I'll be looking at £3500 for a set with rubber which makes me think I should look at the premium aftermarket choices

I would be interested in anyones 336's though who reads this!

I'm guessing you've bought off the lot hence why you didn't go for them before but maybe your dealership'd be willing to do a deal? 336s are too new to be readily available on the second hand market but there some replicas out there which could do the job. Others will be better equipped to say whether reps are any good or not but there are some pretty decent looking reps but with black polish on eBay that might look good.

40d,
I'm in the minority here. I don't see the purpose of buying ANY of the OEM wheels as an "aftermarket" purchase. I think the $4K for a set of 21's ridiculous (not to mention the fact that you are held hostage by the limited 21'' tire market). I have OEM 214's and I'm tired of seeing them here in Knoxville. I've been in the market for 22's myself so, I'm down for helping you piss off the purists and give you some ideas.

I'm more of a "lip'ed" wheel fan, but I think the Vorsteiners would be a nice choice...a real nice choice.

yeah I've bought off the lot - I'm completley in two minds about the wheels, changing my mind on whether to go down the OEM 336 route or AM 22"...

Spanky, I presume you mean these on ebay?
20" BLACK POLISH BMW 336 ALLOYS BMW Y Spoke X5 X6 X3 T5 | eBay

They look great in that finish, does anyone have any experience of thse reps?

Cheers

Yeah those are the ones I meant. No idea if they're any good or not but as far as reps go, they're pretty nice looking. They've got a pretty impressive feedback profile though, zero negative feedback on record.

Well I got the price back for the Vorsteiners - $6500 withou tyres or shipping to the UK - wowzers

So back onto looking at OEMs! Think I'm heavily leaning towards to 336's, thanks for the help!
