I Want to Purchase 2008 X5 4.8i. Help..
I sold my only Car, 2009 Infiniti G37S Coupe, and I now am interested in X5. Although my budget is only about 35k, ~ may be up to 40k if I stretch it. Do you guy think I ll be able to buy 2008 X5 4.8i decent mileage (under 45k, and some warranty left) (Fully loaded, Sport with Y Spoke Wheels, Prem, Cold, Logic 7, Climate Pkg, Comfort access, running board etc) HUD would be nice but not necessary, and I don't need 3rd row seats. Anyways when I look up autotrader, most of them are well over 40k, and + tax will be about 45k for most cars. Is this the right price range for the X5 4.8i? or would I be able to find or negotiate price down under 40k? I was just wondering, if the dealers just set the price up high. |

NON CPO I am thinking. I May have to think 2007 instead of 2008.
Is there any difference, in any perspective between two different years? (Example: Options, Appearance, Mechanical faults in 2007 fixed in 2008 etc) |

^ 2007 did not have auto-tailgate or auto-hold available that the '08s have. Also in 08 the pano moonroof was pretty much standard whereas some '07s may not have it at all. 07s are also the first-year they came out so you may get more rattles and quirks - definitely test drive them thoroughly, with the radio off. Also, beware of the lurching upon acceleration with the 4.8s of the early years.

Recently purchased a 2008 4.8i AW/Tobacco with all the options you mentioned plus tow package for when I have to drag my track car around. Also had third row and rear entertainment which I could do without, but they're there. Mileage was 48k and the build date was 2/08 so I still have some factory warranty left, and it came with the extended maintenence plan FWIW. Purchased from CarMax for a smidge under $37k. Why CarMax? Because their extended warranties are reasonably priced and are honored by my local BMW dealer, plus they have a national inventory you can choose from. Even with the warranty and all taxes and fees I still walked out the door for about $41k, and I couldn't be happier with the car.
So keep looking, you can find one under $40k. Because of how tech intensive these cars are, I would suggest some kind of warranty. Quote:

Thanks everyone for the answers... When I look into autotrader at this moment, there aren't much options, (especially the fact that there are many "MUST" packages that I want for this car).
Thanks for assuring me that, I can still look for a car under 40k. |

I have another question.
If I buy 2007 X5 with 59k miles. Will I be able to get extended warranty for BMW dealership? Let's say I get 2 year / 24,000 miles, then 2 year starts from that day + 24,000 miles from 59,000 miles? |

Meaning i wont be able to buy warranty from legit bmw dealership? But instead i need to get after market warranty from warranty company?? What would be the difference between them?
Im aware that CPO is something Bmw does when they get bmw used car and just extend 2 more yrs and 100k warranty. They also separetly sells 1 yr 2 yr 3 yr 12 24 36k miles. For electrical engine and transmission. |
