Advanced DVD

There is an article in this months BMW Car Magazine giving details of a new "Advanced DVD" system for the X5. The picture shows two 7" screens mounted on brackets so that they sit high up behind the front headrests. They are not integrated into the headrest the brackets look like they fix on to the back of the rear seats. Comes complete with a boot mounted 6CD/DVD changer. Doesn't mention price. Doesn't mention price. Unfortuantely I don't have a scanner so I can't post a copy of the article.

Seems to be a dealer fit alternative to the system you can spec at build time.

Fredo, here's the full spec & US prices....

I'll just change the £ sign for the $ sign.....that's easier than mutiplying by two. The good news about paying more for our cars is that we get the full range of models and options in the UK

Fredo,

Here is a scan from the X5 UK brochure. Prices are not that bad for a DVD changer but once you add it all up and add a quick £800-1000 of labour it starts looking different
I am looking at some high quality local installers who might be able to offer a full Alpine system for a similar price. THe RR Sport has a nice factory integration system I must say with full control from the front, that's really what I would like to have along with Hard Disk based video...
Not decided yet if I am going to waste £2-3k on it tho.
