Track times E53 vs E70???

Trying to find out which handles better on the track, handling wise. Does an E70 handle better then my E53 4.8is??

I have no frame of reference for the E53 but hear it "feels" better, especially the 4.8is, but compared to the X5M, X6M I don't know.
What I can tell you is the X5 50i with MSport and Adaptive suspension and active steering is quite impressive. I've not been on track with it, but on the twistiest of roads, it can hang with the best, including M3s, etc. I had to push it a bit harder than them but I could stay with them when desired.
It feels soft and a bit bouncy in normal mode but firms up nicely in sport. There is a nice fairly neutral turn in, almost no body roll, nice balance to really feel the edge of grip, and the ability to power out of a turn an push the back end out a bit. I couldn't ask for more.

This picture is while really pushing it on the Tail of the Dragon with an E92 M3 on my tail. And yes he was having to work it hard to keep up.

It was always an option.

Up to 2009 it was part of the "Sport Package"... beginning 2010 it was stand alone, "Adaptive Drive: code 2VA.

Any idea which had AD (other than the M)??? I guess they'd hate to test a 4.8i with AD and have it do better than the M....

2008 BMW X5 4.8i: Track Testing (Video Added)

According to Edmunds, those numbers were posted by a 4.8i without sport package. The 20s grip very well, I'm guessing much better numbers for those so equipped, especially on the skidpad. Too bad the videos don't work anymore.

This is the only major magazine full test I know of for the 2011+ X5.
Acura MDX vs. Audi Q7 3.0T, BMW X5 xDrive35i, Land Rover LR4 HSE, Lexus GX460 - Comparison Tests
It blows away the competion braking, performance, and handling.

.89 Gs with the 20s! But I can't tell if it had AD.

Looks like a "sport" button on the interior shot. That 'black/white' interior looks horrific, IMO. Someone cut up a penguin pelt....
