E70 BMW Base support system (roof Rack)

Does anyone have the instructions for the BMW roof rack for the E70. I cant seem to find mine and the two bars are different? One has plastic pieces underneath the bar while the other is smooth? Not sure which is the front and which is the rear. I looked them all over and dont see any labels etc.. Thanks for any help!

The front bar I believe is longer then the rear one. Bars are installed right now on my car and the front one has plastic pieces underneath and the rear one is smooth. I don't think you will be able to install them in reverse due to length difference - I've tried that but with no success .

The one with the ridges goes in the front.

Thank you guys! That is perfect, I did install them in that order and after looking at it I didnt notice the plastic pieces on the bottom and wasnt sure if they went to the front or rear. Thank you again.

Sounds like you're on the right track. If you look on the bottom of the bars, there will be a triangle indicating which side of the vehicle that clamp should be on. There will be only one correct way to install it.
