Keyless entry and ambient light detector questions

Happy new year to you all,
I have two questions related to my 2012 X5 3.0d :

1. I noticed when I wash the car and direct the spray to the door handles that the keyless entry goes through a lock/unlock cycle and continues to do this. Is there a way of stopping it other than not spraying the handles directly?

2. The headlight ambient light sensor that is attached to the windhshield seems finicky. The other day I went on a long ride starting at about noon and the sensor was working correctly as i entered and exited tunnels. Towards the evening the headlight kept on even when facing direct sunlight which was about to set on the horizon (just when it gives out a more orangeish color). I was wondering if the sensor uses other variables such as time of day to make the adjustments or if this is some sort of bug on mine?
