I have 4K mile on my '09 3.0 and only issue is the oil sensor. The car is going in tomorrow to have it replaced.
I don't like the back up camera staying on for a short time (seems like forever) when the transmission is engaged in drive.

The poll is kind of useless.

But FYI: With my 09 3.0 I've had the high battery drain message once. And I have the oil overfill message as well, which I'm presuming is a sensor problem. Occasionally the rear view camera just doesn't work. But it resets next time I use the car (although not simply after turning the car on and off at the time). PDC continues to work. Depending on the angle of the rear seats, I sometimes have some creaks.

None of this am I really worrying about. There is so much tech and so many moving pieces in this truck, I consider it a pretty good build so far.

Thanks for the info guys, keep it coming. The reason I created this poll is b/c when I look for a used one in the future I would have a better idea when BMW corrected a lot of the early bugs. Nothing scientific. Looking at BMW's past models, it seems like the 2nd year of production get a lot of bugs out and by the third year a lot of issues are settled.

Depends on the specific issues as the latest firmware updates may solve them. Things like creaks/rattles are a different story of course. Judging by earlier posts, I think 08s made significant strides as far as that goes.

so far with my 08 3.0, no issues other than one 'battery drain' msg.
