Looking to buy VMR wheels for the e70
their wheels can handle the weight of the e70 x5 and so I might make this purchase. They will bore out the wheels to match our hubs so it won't be a problem (for an added $100 fee). I'm just not sure if the offsets will work... 20 x 9 +35 20 x 10 + 35 I'm thinking it should work fine, and maybe add spacers to flush up the wheels to the body. Take a look at my photoshop and let me know your thoughts- not sure why there aren't more VMR wheel owners here, since they are so popular with the 3 series crowd. VMR V710 an approx a 20" diameter spec.

I'm going to ask for specifics. I mean people here buy replica OEM wheels which may not be JWL or VIA certified and have no issues...

Not pitching that brand of wheels, but from their site:
"VMR wheels pass JWL, VIA, and ISO-9001:2000 standards to ensure the highest level of safety and quality. For customers in Europe seeking TUV certification, the wheels are stamped on the back with the max load rating. With this stamp on the back of the wheel, you are able to have this wheel approved for use on your vehicle under TÜV standards. You will not have any issues running this wheel due to strict TÜV regulations." VMR Wheels All fwiw, but the OP should be able to get a decent response from them. The 'Net has remarkable sets of info... GL, mD

So far the communication has be great and responsive, and they do have a huge market in the 3 series crowd. I'm going to assume from a legality/safety standpoint these guys wouldn't recommend it if it would impose any liability for safety for me.

I always thought they did staggered setups even with OEM wheels- I had no idea.

You're right, OEM size is 20X10F and 20X11R, that's why I said 20X10 is the stock front wheel size But what I meant was, if you're getting aftermarket wheels, why go with a narrower wheel (and hence narrower tire) than stock? I've read here that some people go square so they can rotate tires, that's where my suggestion came from. FWIW my new wheels just showed up today and I'm getting them mounted tomorrow, they are stock dimensions but with less offset (35mm front, 25mm rear). If you'd like to see a pic of how a 20X10 with 35mm offset looks, let me know

Take pics! I haven't seen many setups with offset info so that would definitely help.
