POI on 08 E70

Searching the boards for an answer. Hope someone can clarify. Does the 08 NAV have a POI search feature? If so how do I do this? Not sure if an upgrade of the NAV needs to be done for the POI feature. Any info would be great.

My old '08 535xi and '08 X3 both had POI search. If I remember correctly, you had to go Navigation and then scroll left/right the top selection options until "Info on Location" or "info on City". I no longer have either of them so I can't tell you the process step by step...

Yes you can do it from map view by highlighting the I on the left side of the screen or in the navigation main menu and selecting information along the top.

Then select info by current location, new location or destination

Choose search category ... Etc

The problem is you can't search across all poi categories by text field. So you need to know what you are looking for within a category first ... Major pita. This was fixed in 2010 in the CIC nav system.
