New 2011 CPO

Hey all...after 8 great years with a 2003 3.0, a short lived time with a 2006 4.4 - dreaded blue smoke after purchase which jaded me and I switched to Lexus. The Lexus experience only lasted a few months and I am now back with a 2011 CPO 3.5. It was that or a 4runner limited...great vehicle but just wasnt feeling it.

30k miles, Deep Sea Blue with Black interior, 11 months left on original factory warranty & maintenance. Will post pics shortly.

Has a few minor things that myself or dealer has addressed:

- roof trim paint peeling - dealer replaced via warranty
- wood trim cracking on all 4 doors/glove box - dealer replaced via warranty
- replaced kidney grills with titanium ones - all me
- squeaky front seats - dealer removed/reattached the plastic shroud/panel that comes flush around/against the seat. Helped a bit...but i supplemented that with some mothers vlr in between the seat and panel and now silence!
- tailgate noise - saw a post on here on how to correct. Will attempt first and if not successful will take it back to the dealer at some point.

Had one question though with regards to oil change intervals:

Vehicle currently has 31k miles on 1/2014
Last oil change was at 28k miles on 7/2013
Car was returned by original lease owner on ~10/2013 with 30k miles.

So 6 months, only 3k miles since the last oil change. Given the low mileage driving since the last oil change and since I am a low mileage driver as well (< 6k miles/yr), for my peace of mind, plan on getting the oil changed soon from my indy. Then again at the dealer via the maintenance warranty on 7/2014.

Question is, is the in between oil change necessary, besides for peace of mind? Possibly, I am still a bit paranoid from the blue smoke experience on the 4.4i.

Plan on keeping the vehicle for a long time. During the week...all short trip driving. I do take it for a nice open highway drive at least once a week(about a 30-40 mile drive). I live in SoCal as well.

Appreciate your thoughts here....

My X is driven 6-9lk miles a year and I do annual oil changes. I would wait until July to change the oil.
