Great looking vehicle, congratulations!

How would you rate your buying experience with Exotic Motor World? I bet there are a few people interested in your opinion as their pricing is very competitive...

Bumper to bumper traffic could explain it but I do that on my commute which is 6-10 miles of interstate but always in traffic where I get near 17 mpg. I seem to be enjoying the power more lately and getting a bit less.

Steady state 70-75 mph is where I get 20 or so. Try setting the cruise for a 20-30 mile highway trip and see what you get.
Just curious, do you reset the mpg computer when you hit the highway? I only reset it at every fill up. I will experiment with cruise control set at 70mph and see how it looks. Also, on my local trips I have a traffic light or stop sign every other block so that is not helping either.

Looks great!

While I would certainly consider the MSport package, I can't help being disappointed with BMW for continuing to water down the M brand and everything it stands for... I felt the same way about Audi with their S Line packages but hold BMW to a higher standard...

I suspect that this has been discussed...
Thanks! Although I think the Msport package looks great on this car, I agree with you that the "M" has lost something... It used to be reserved exclusively for dedicated high performance, highly tuned vehicles which were the best BMW had to offer. Today the M is used for marketing....

135 mile trip today, 75-80 mph depending on speed limit, and I averaged 19.9 mpg. That included about 10 miles of in town driving which dropped it from an initial 20.5 mpg. I just cruised but did punch it a few times. Can't help that, merging behind idiots going 50 in a 70 zone.
20.5mpg sounds excellent!! Have to try it on my commute tomorrow...

are you guys doing your own calculations or are you going by what the digital avg meter states?

i just broke 1000 miles on my 2012 X5 50i this week and it states i am averaging 13.8mpg...

i have been driving it almost everyday to work which is about 20 miles each way... mostly highways but don't forget it's rush hour traffic.

other than that it's an awesome vehicle... seems to be getting stronger each week as i continue to break her in...
I am using the onboard mpg computer... It sounds like we have similar driving and are getting comparable mpg. Not sure if I will be able to hit the 20mpg mark.

Thanks! I wrote a lengthy thread on Bimmerfest regarding my sales experience with EMW which you can search for over there. To sum it up in a few words; I would have to say they are small but value their customers and will go above and beyond to make the customer happy. Very different experience from the big BMW dealerships. I would not hesitate to call them again for any other car needs...

I drive 100% city M-F and possible highway longish trips (120-150 miles round trip) on weekends and my MPG (last reset 6-7 months ago) says 12-13mpg....I have a 2007 4.8i

And, I never really carry anything, it's mainly me 90% of the time and if not, me and my 110 pound fiancé...

With that said, just trying to add some statistics to this convo.
