Hitch questions

When I purchased my X5 it came with the hitch cut out and the wiring is there (see pics). I guess the previous owner removed the hitch assembly.

Is there anything I need to do other than get a new hitch assembly? Any programming, etc?

Thanks,

You need to get the actual towbar and reinstall it. It also looks like you are missing the connector that goes on the end of that harness.

The one from BMW if you plan on doing any serious towing. If you are just towing lightly, then just pick one.

Since you already have the cut out, I would suggest the factory hitch. I did not want to cut the bumper for mine, so I went with an European hitch.
