blue dragon will become famous soon enough
You can use NCSExpert. You will need to add AMHU to the FA (Vehicle order). See here http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...g-details.html

There are some guidelines for modifying yuor FA

Very nice. Can you also measure ground to receiver?

The Class III trailer hitch is an Ebay deal I found for 159.99, shipping included. Made by Magnus. The material and workmanship were just as nice as any out there. It measures 14" from level ground to the center of the receiver. Since all we tow is a Thule rack with two beach bikes, the clearance isn't an issue. There is a little trimming required around the gray piece just above the hitch. Not visible to the casual observer though.

I bought the OEM hitch from ECS Tuning with the wiring harness and module. It took me about 2.5 hours to install and the programming from the local BMW Dealer was $107.50. If anyone has questions PM me or ask on this thread.

I am going to revive this thread from the grave.

Im trying to order the hitch kit 71 60 0 413 359 from realoem.com

Now, i think i can do the install myself. I am trying to tow a track car - towing with the car weighs around 5000# (3200 for car + 1500-1700# for trailer)

Should be ok right? I cant afford nice aluminum open trailer so I may just go with Carson Trailer. Im located in socal if anyone can help me with which dealer wouldnt rip me off on the reprogram of this thing.

Seems like installation isnt that bad..
