Center console removal?

I need some help. I will start by saying that I hate pennies. They cost more to produce than what they're worth, and now, they seem to have found the inside of my X5.

I was driving this afternoon and heard a coin rolling around during breaking and accelerating. I looked up and found a thread about that owner's coinsectomy, but he blows right over the part on removing the center console to get to the penny.

Removing the iDrove knob is easy, but from there, I have no clue on what to attack next. Do I have to take off the gear shift knob? Just the trim? I lifted out the ashtray and cleared out the cup holders, hoping there would be screws to gain access, but no such luck.

From my research, it sounds like a mechanic would charge around 3 hours of labor to remove a damn copper disc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
