Newby and buying soon
I am looking at a 2009; 36K; 35D; with cold weather package. It would be a private aprty sale and with a clean carfax. Is there much risk in buying this X5 still under warranty if the one owner seems pretty legit? The price is $33K and seems a lot better than a dealer with certified but it would be more risky. Any advice on the price would be helpful. thanx |

Another option would be to see what it would take to get the X CPO'd by the local dealer...may be worth the time, $$ and effort.....if you have a good relationship with the service department it may be worth a try.

Thank you for the response. The dealer wouldn't help, said the service history is for BMW eyes only.
I feel kind of stuck because I can't get a build sheet or service record as the owner does not have them. thanx |

Go to a different dealer. All ou really need is to have them pull p the vehicle via the vin and read off the info -- build info, in service date, service history.
Or, since this is private party, have the owner do it. They want to sell the car, right?
