The timing was OK with me so I left it with them...when I picked it up, the rep then mentioned the parts that were changed. All was good before...let's see how it goes now ![]()

No letter, but I had scheduled service this past Tuesday (15). The SA advised me that there were 2 recalls, the first one was a software reflash, the second required Overnighting parts from MA to Utah for a EGR valve, some kind of exhaust valve/emissions fix. Part came in this AM and a 4.5 hr software update and it's done now.
I'm picking it up tomorrow 'cause I had not planned on the extra days. It was going in for it's first oil change (May 2011 build). And I had them check on a BMW apps, but my build isn't compatible. ![]() I'll keep you posted if I notice anything. ANybody know what triggered the TSB ? |

Yes, our dealer here in Germany noted this recall last week, to add to the service list when he installs the OEM hitch.

![]() ![]() You're new, so I won't beat you up... There are MANY posts, here and out xoutpost.com about the various "diesel emissions issues" since 2009. Not massive, but sporadic and continuing. Some have had no issues, some many... But it has taken BMW ~3 years to figure this one out....there have been interim service bulletins, recalls, fixes, etc Anyway, we are waiting for the text of this actual SB to know what is being done (not the text in the recall notice, but the actual work instructions to the dealer)...then we will know what REALLY is being fixed! I was visiting my parents this weekend and took a look at the services performed. The SES light triggered earlier this month was indeed related to the recall, so half a dozen parts were replaced and the vehicle was reprogrammed. Two day repair.
To make things slightly more irritating, they replaced the (good, factory supplied brand) wiper blades I had bought for him with the not-so-good blades without my father requesting it, so that was like, $25 down the drain. Oh, and as an added measure of incompetence, they installed them on the wrong sides- I pointed out that the driver blade had been installed on the pass side, and vice versa. |

Anyone have the change yet? Notice any mileage differences? ECM "changes" especially for "emissions" reasons always worry me

Is someone able to scan and upload the letter as a link? I'm due to collect my " new" 2009 X5 on Sunday and would like to make sure the dealer has done the work before I collect it.
