Order placed on may 14 but..
Is that odd? I have a production number but it's still in 112 status. I know it only takes a week to build, will it be sitting a the factory for a month before they transport it to California? I see guys going into production just days after order |

Things move very quickly once it goes into production. Your build date is a result of when your dealer had an allocation. A different dealer might have had an earlier build allocation. Once built, it will ship out quickly, although obviously it will take longer to get to you because you're in So. Cal. Mine was at the dealer in just a little over a week from when the build began...it surprised me by being done and delivered so fast.

Are you checking online or calling the number. I know that the different status systems are not real time and the only true way to find out is call you Sales person and have them check. I know my online status stated production when I picked it up from the dealer in Chicago.

Its been posted before- and explained below- but the key is that dealers cannot just 'order' cars whenever they want!!!! They get a certain number of production slots...your dealer gave you week 23. Likely his next available slot that is not committed. Had you cut a deal with someone who had a week 21 it would start now. All kind of luck of the draw. Just a WAG: They will start it week 23, around June 6,7,8. It will take 4-6 days to make, 2-3 days to get onto a train, 9-10 days to your dealer. It will travel by train from Spartanburg to Oxnard, then via truck to the dealer. You'll be driving it to watch fireworks. A |

my X5 had a wk 20 production slot, but was produced a couple of wks ago, and is now "at the port, awaiting shipping" ... YMMV
